Keeping oestrogen in check
Two different tools sit here. Nolvadex and Clomid are SERMs: they block the oestrogen receptor in some tissues while leaving oestrogen itself alone. Anastrozole, Aromasin and Letrozole are aromatase inhibitors: they cut how much testosterone converts to oestrogen in the first place.
Anything that aromatises — testosterone, Sustanon, Dianabol — makes one of these worth having on hand. Crashing oestrogen is its own problem, though: flat mood, aching joints and no libido all follow a dose that is too high.
