Human chorionic gonadotropin mimics luteinising hormone closely enough to stimulate the testes directly, which is why it works when the pituitary signal is suppressed. It is used clinically in fertility treatment and off-label during or after a cycle to keep testicular function from shutting down completely.
Before you use it
